Trip to Ardnacrusha
Second year geography students visited Ardnacrusha on Tuesday 15th of may, providing students with the opportunity to visit the river Shannon and irelands first hydro electric power station. This was studied in geography during the academic year. The tour focused on the electrification of Ireland after the founding of the new state. Alongside the daily harnessing of hydro electricity, paying particular attention to the efforts of the ESB in protecting fishlife along the river.
